JOHN NEWSOM

John Newsom has been a triathlete for over half his life and now runs a successful triathlon coaching business in Christchurch, New Zealand. After winning the junior section in his first ever triathlon John was hooked. He went on to represent New Zealand and then to compete as a professional athlete around the world. With an Ironman PB of 8:51 whilst still holding down a day job John knows what it takes to get to the top of the sport.

John is also involved in a number of other ventures. Epic Camp, which John runs with Ironman Champion and general legend Scott Molina,  is a series oftraining camps that are designed for elite age groupers who want an adventure andto take their athletic performance to the next level. John also runs a Christchurch based junior triathlon programme with the Canterbury Triathlon Club. Finally John also organises several events such as the JD Duathlons, OxMan, Triathlon Festival along with other events for the Canterbury Triathlon Club

BEVAN JAMES EYLES

Bevan James Eyles was an Ironman Triathlete from 2003-2009. In his first race he stumbled across the line, like most first timers, in just under 11 hours. Over his time he grew as an athlete, getting his time down to 9:05. Since this time he has been running in Marathons and doing some 70.3’s.

Outside the sport he is New Zealand’s top group fitness instructor, winning New Zealand Fitness Instructor for 2005, 2006 and 2008. He also runs New Zealand’s top Half Marathon Group Training Business calledRaceTeam. His other passions in life including playing both the piano and guitar and spending time with family and friends.
